(Internet of Behaviours: What is it? What impact on society?)

November 19, 2025 @ 11:00 am - 12:15 pm
Free

The number of Cameroon internet users is growing year after year, with 40 to 45% of the population having accessed the internet in 2023. Faced with this surge in internet use, malicious behaviors are becoming increasingly prevalent, including financial scams, online violence, particularly against vulnerable individuals, women, and children, and the spread of misinformation (or fake news). These scourges are all the more difficult to combat because the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies enhances the quality and sophistication of malicious acts, while also multiplying them by making them easier to perpetrate. Controlling online behavior is also crucial for governments in order to maintain social peace. The objective of this webinar is to discuss the nature of online behavior among Cameroonian civil society actors, businesses, and government entities, and to analyze its impact.
